I can't even begin to describe what a heaven sent gift Bruce's gentle lead collar is to him. Not only can we walk without him dragging me down the street in utter embarrassment but both of us enjoy our walks not once a day but twice now!..so for anyone with a dane that is HELL ON A LEASH like Bruce was, I recommend the GENTLE LEAD collar, its worked wonders. When we're done walking however I always remove the collar, doesn't seem safe to leave on 24/7. So good luck
My two cents, Maria Sandoval and Bruce |

Suzy actually recommended the gentle lead harness to us and gave us one for our Rottie Lola. We were hooked. She stopped pulling when she saw other dogs and people. She is a rescue and about 12 years or older, with a highly abusive background. Some things she has been trainable with, while other things, we need some outside help. This makes walks so much more enjoyable and stress-free.
Next we got one for our puppy and now Shadow, the Great Dane. It is the best harness ever invented and really helps with training, since it leads the dog to turn around and face you if they start to pull. The only dog who doesn't get one is Teddy, our dachshund. It is not good for small dogs or dog's low to the ground, because of its design. But, I completely second Maria. And thank you Suzy for introducing this to us. I would have never heard about it. P.S. It is also great, because it doesn't put unneeded strain on the sensitive trachea of a dog. It is really gentle to not only the dog walker, but the dog himself. And I definitely would not leave it on all the time-just for walks, then remove. If you don't already own this and have somewhat stressful walks, do yourself a favor and buy it ASAP! You won't be disappointed! Alissa |
